The Community Gardens of Tucson has been getting a good bit of press lately. The latest spot is in the Tucson Green Magazine. Jim was out not too long ago taking photos at the Presidio Garden and it’s good to see some familiar faces in print. George’s blog is humming along for the summer and has plenty of good stuff for the upcoming season.
This added visibility has resulted in quite a few requests for information and available plots. The Presidio Garden will be expanding soon, Corbett still has open spots, and we’re looking at other possible places to add gardens. In addition to finding space, we’re looking for areas that are attached to some sort of commercial building. Residential water rates make gardening, even at our small scale, expensive based on the way that we calculate our water rates.
