Community Gardens of Tucson

NSS Program

The Community Gardens of Tucson has formed a partnership with Native Seeds/SEARCH so that members of CGT can receive up to 5 packets of seeds per planting season (spring & fall) free.  Please visit the NSS web site at http://www.nativeseeds.org/ and choose the seeds you are interested in receiving.  Please note that wildflower seeds are not included in this program.  Email the descriptions and item numbers to the administrator of CGT at admin@communitygardensoftucson.org  (Note – This is a FREE program.  Under no circumstances will a rush order be processed.  Please do not ask.)

In return for the free seeds NSS would like information about how well the seeds performed in your garden.  Gardeners participating in the program provide the feedback by printing out the forms below and filling them out as the season progresses and then must return the forms to NSS.  These brochures give instructions for photographing the relevant plant parts and for taking all relevant data.

A few comments on photos and data-taking:

  • It is very important to include within each photo an indication of scale (a ruler is best, but other objects can be used in a pinch) and an indication of what the crop is (varietal name).
  • Dates can be approximate.
  • If there are no relevant data for a given question, it is better to say “N/A” or “none” than to leave it blank (which has ambiguous meaning).
