Let’s Keep our Gardens Green and Open to All!

Founded in 1990, Community Gardens of Tucson today supports 20 gardens in diverse communities in neighborhoods across Tucson.  These islands of inspiration and hope provide more than 500 individuals of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, and economic standing the opportunity to enrich their lives – and those of others – through sustainable gardening practices that bring healthy and nutritious food from garden to table.

A volunteer-based nonprofit, CGT relies exclusively on the financial generosity of caring and compassionate donors to support our programs and meet our mission.  As we “turn “30,” our work to expand our family of gardeners is more critical than ever!  This year, we will continue to:

*Provide scholarships to refugees and those at an economic disadvantage

*Partner and collaborate with like-minded organizations to leverage our reach and impact

*Increase our funding base to broaden our programs

*Sow seeds in the hearts of younger gardeners to foster their love for the environment and the communities of which they are a part, and

*Celebrate the role that we all can play in making Tucson a sustainable and inclusive City

Our Kids in Gardens program is just one powerful example of how CGT is making the world a better place! This initiative takes elementary school children, families, and teachers, from classroom to garden and blends science-based garden curricula with first-hand gardening experience.  Last year, we touched the lives of nearly 200 area students helping them discover where their food originates by planting, growing, and “getting their hands dirty!”

We invite you to become a part of our community – as a gardener, a volunteer, a friend, a donor. If you would like to support the work of Community Gardens of Tucson, thank you for donating below!
