CENTRAL

Doolen Garden
2400 N. Country Club
Doolen Garden is located at Doolen Middle School. This garden has 24 raised bed plots, some of which are used by the students and teachers at the school. The students painted the shed with a beautiful mural, and other art created by students decorates the garden. There are also numerous native trees and plants, a few fruit trees (including a quince, fig and pomegranate), and an active composting system.

Presidio Garden
3440 E. Presidio Rd
Presidio Garden has 34 plots, seven of which are raised beds, and is centrally located in Tucson behind a private home. At Presidio we have a native pollinator garden built in collaboration with Sustainable Tucson, a community plot with flowers, a shared herb garden and a pomegranate tree. Parts of the garden are shaded by giant mesquites, including the picnic tables and bench.

Gregory School Garden
3231 N. Craycroft Rd
Gregory School Garden is located at the Gregory School, near the confluence of Tanque Verde Wash and Pantano Wash, where native people farmed over 1000 years ago. Our garden tries to carry on this tradition with 33 plots (including one raised bed) and a mascot bird - Vermy, a Vermillion Flycatcher. Part of the garden is used by Gregory School students as part of their classwork. The garden also has an active composting system and an apricot tree.

GD2 Garden

GD2 Garden is located at Kha Dang Park in Tucson’s Garden District. This “secret garden” is beautifully tucked away and surrounded by large trees and vines. Most of the 21 plots are in-ground, with one raised bed as well. This garden has chickens in a custom-built metal chicken coop as well as an active composting system. The garden is small but tended by a caring group of diverse gardeners who work and learn together.

Keeling Garden

Keeling Garden is located at The Saint Germain Foundation. This community garden has 20 plots in total, five of which are raised beds. There is an active composting system and a gazebo with seating - all of which was originally built by gardeners. We also have a mandarin tree (watch for seeds!), a fig tree and a pomegranate tree.

Shay-Shay Garden
3800 E River Rd
Shay Shay Garden is located at the Jewish Community Center. There are 20 raised beds as well as a Meyer lemon tree. This garden has a beautiful view of the Catalina Mountains and is very close to The Loop bicycle and shared-use trail.

Chaverim Garden
5901 E 2nd St.
Chaverim Garden is located at the Chaverim Synagogue and was established in 2003. It is one of CGT’s oldest and largest community gardens with 32 plots in total - 30 in-ground plots and two raised beds. What once was a parking lot is now a flourishing community in a garden. In 2020 we established our pollinator garden with help from the Audubon Society. Chaverim also has a very active compost system, rainwater cisterns, and a free little library.

Highland Vista Garden
5300 E. 7th St.
Highland Vista Garden is located in Highland Vista park on the east side of town. There are 17 plots - seven raised beds and ten in-ground - along with a pollinator area, community herb garden, and picnic tables. We collaborate with the City of Tucson for their Foodcycle At Home program for our compost needs. We have community events with our quaint, creative, neighborhood friends such as poetry slams, arts and crafts, and porch concerts.

Mary Meredith/Duffy Garden
755 N. Magnolia
Mary Meredith Garden is located at Mary Meredith K-12 School. We have 16 plots, including a pollinator plot. We have a compost pile that we supplement with food waste from a nearby restaurant. We also have a fruit tree orchard with pomegranate, fig and quince trees, plus a sprawling grapevine. A large covered ramada with benches on the school property provides shade plus a safe place to watch the summer storms when school is not in session.

McCormick Garden
2950 N. Columbus Blvd.
McCormick Garden is CGT's newest, located in the Southeast corner of McCormick Park. It has 16 in-ground plots, plans for 4 raised-bed plots (coming soon!), an insulated shed, and shade from the established trees surrounding it.
The garden is surrounded by the Vista del Monte Neighborhood. Rillito River Park, the Loop & Blacklidge bike paths, and the Lighthouse/City YMCA are all nearby.
DOWNTOWN

Doris J. Thompson
2000 N. 4th Ave
Doris J. Thompson Garden is located at Doris J. Thompson Park and features a stunning bicycle art fence panel made by local artist Troy Neiman. The garden has a total of 22 plots, including 3 raised beds for accessibility, as well as an active compost system and communal herb and pollinator plots. Having this garden in a park allows many diverse folks from the surrounding community to enjoy the beauty and life it adds to the park.

Pio Decimo Garden
848 S 7th Ave
Pio Decimo Garden is a historic garden located in Barrio Santa Rosa. The tree-lined grounds are approximately 1/4 acre, with 21 garden plots including a planned ADA-compliant senior garden. There are several common planting areas including: mature fruit trees, a culinary herb garden, and a native pollinator garden. Community garden workdays are held the first Saturday each month from 8:00-11:00AM although start times might vary depending on the season. We welcome visitors and volunteers to join us at that time.
NORTH / NORTHEAST

Ventana Vista Garden

Ventana Vista Garden is located at Ventana Vista Elementary School in the foothills of the Catalina Mountains. This garden has 24 plots in total, including one raised bed, as well as a very active composting system, vermicomposting, and a lemon tree. Four of the plots are used by the students and teachers, so they have a garden space to use for education and growing food.

Sunrise Garden
5301 E. Sunrise Dr.
Sunrise Garden is located on the east side of the Sunrise Drive Elementary School campus, protected by a high steel fence and bounded on the north by the beautiful Santa Catalina Mountains. There are 12 community plots, along with a number of student plots. There is also a grape vine, blackberry bush, and several fruit trees. A unique aspect of the garden is that the community gardeners and students work in partnership in the same space.

Rincon Mountain Garden
8445 E. Tanque Verde
Rincon Mountain Garden is located at the Rincon Mountain Presbyterian Church. This scenic garden has a gorgeous view of the Santa Catalina Mountain range. It has 30 plots in total, with 28 for gardeners as well as one herb plot and one pollinator plot. It also has a 4-bin composting system and a large apricot tree. This garden is surrounded by the natural landscape of the Sonoran Desert.

New Spirit Garden
8701 E. Old Spanish Trail
New Spirit Garden is located at the New Spirit Lutheran Church. With a total of 38 plots, including two raised beds, New Spirit is CGT’s largest garden. The garden has a three-bin compost system and a pollinator garden planted in partnership with the Audubon Society of Southern Arizona in 2020 and replanted in 2025. The garden also has a small orchard planted in partnership with New Spirit Lutheran Church, and a communal playground area.
SOUTH

Las Abuelitas Garden
440 E. 26th
Las Abuelitas Garden is adjacent to a multi-family housing community in South Tucson. The property is a net zero carbon emissions facility. It has a total of 13 raised bed garden plots available to the community. The garden also features communal fruit trees, shaded seating areas and a composting area.

La Capilla Garden
227 W. 34th St
La Capilla Garden is located within a pocket park in South Tucson. It currently offers galvanized metal raised beds. The garden also features communal fruit trees and a shaded seating area.

WEST

Homer Davis Garden
4250 N Romero Rd
Homer Davis Garden is located at Homer Davis Elementary School on the west side of town. Part of the garden is used by Homer Davis students in their educational experience. The garden has a three-bin composting area and 19 raised beds, one of which is our pollinator bed which is heavily visited by Queen butterflies and other pollinators. We have a fig tree, a pomegranate tree, two white mulberry trees and a native bee house constructed by the school children.

Blue Moon Garden

Blue Moon Garden is located just south of Tucson House in Barrio Blue Moon and is CGT’s second largest garden, with 36 plots. There are in-ground plots as well as various sizes of raised beds to aid in more accessible gardening. There is a ramada and tile art decorating the benches, as well as many native plantings spread throughout the half-acre grounds. There is also a three-bin composting system, rainwater cistern, a fruit orchard and CGT’s first composting toilet!

Tierra Anita Garden

Tierra Anita Garden is located in Barrio Anita. It has a total of 14 garden plots available to the community, some in-ground and some raised. The garden also features communal fruit trees and shaded seating areas.
