Sammy Kaplan

Sammy comes to CGT from the research world. He holds a bachelor’s in biochemistry and was previously a research technician at the Ivy Brain Tumor Center in Phoenix. Since moving to Tucson in early 2024 and taking up a plot at Doris J. Thompson Garden, Sammy’s lifelong love of gardening has also become a love for community gardening. When the chance came up to work full-time with CGT, Sammy jumped at the opportunity to be outside helping with gardens all around Tucson and he’s been loving it ever since! In addition to his love of gardening and science, Sammy is an avid rock climber, computer gamer, and fishkeeper.
